Kirkstone Bed and Breakfast is a converted chapel in the heart of Teesdale.

The 4 star guest accommodation on the ground floor is an annexe joined to the main house, offering complete privacy for guests. We are often described by our guests as a Holiday Cottage with the benefits of a varied breakfast menu.

On arrival you will receive a warm welcome, a refreshing drink of tea or coffee, home-made scones and preserves.

Guests are given their own set of keys to enable them to come and go as they please.

Sorry, no pets. We are non-smoking throughout.

Booking in times are: after 5-00pm Thursday and Friday, all other days after 2-00pm.

Ample car parking is available on-site.

A well presented, ground floor, double bedroom with en suite shower, toilet and sink.

The room is complete with colour television, hairdryer, radio and tea and coffee making facilities.

Garden Room

Breakfast is served in the bright and airy Garden Room which overlooks the secluded garden. Guests have the sole use of the Garden Room during their stay.

  • Full cooked breakfast; kippers; haddock with poached eggs; vegetarian sausage
  • Toast or muffins with home-made preserves & local honey

Location

Kirkstone overlooks the Stang forest and Arkengarthdale.

Just 1 mile away is the small market town of Barnard Castle which has lots of interesting shops including several Antique shops.

A short walk from the town centre is the world famous Bowes Museum which has very close ties to the late Queen Mother. Inside the famous feeding silver swan.

About 8 miles from the town centre is High Force, the highest waterfall in England and only 6 miles away is Raby Castle.
